Visitor Programs

The NOAO Visitors Program is open to Ph.D. scientists and engineers who wish to visit an NOAO site to collaborate with observatory staff for periods from a few weeks to several months.

Postdoc Programs

NOAO awards the Goldberg Fellowship, a prestigious five-year postdoctoral fellowship, aimed at supporting young astronomers of outstanding promise to carry out research at NOAO-North or NOAO-South during the first four years of the fellowship, plus research and teaching at a university during the fifth year. The fellowships provide a context for designing and executing challenging long-term research programs, and preparing for university careers.

Travel Support

NOAO provides travel support for thesis students who are traveling to an observing run granted by the NOAO time allocation process. Support must be requested through the proper form at the time that the proposal is submitted.
