- Surveys
- NOAO offers the opportunity to conduct major survey projects of up to 3 years duration. Up to 20% of the observing time available through NOAO may be allocated to survey projects. Final datasets produced by survey projects may be found in the NOAO Science Archive.
- NOAO Affiliated Meetings
- NOAO sponsors and organizes technical, scientific, and planning meetings that cover a wide range of subjects. This list provides links to meeting websites, presentation material and reports.
- Meetings and Colloquia
- During the academic year, NOAO holds weekly formal and informal talks, jointly with Steward Observatory. NOAO also organizes and hosts meetings and workshops periodically, covering technical, scientific, and sociological subjects of interest to the community.

- Decadal Survey
- NOAO submitted white papers and other reports to the Astro2010 Decadal Survey in order to advocate for strategic advancement of System capabilities.
